Oooooooooohhh - and.. the thing about Tumblr..

Just found that picture of this amazing installation on Tumblr at Design is for Living. I love the airiness / bubbliness of it all.. BUT was totally unable to find who it's by... That's the thing about Tumblr... I started using it (see the Stitch and Tickle Tumblr page here) because it's an amazing (mindblowing?) database of images that allows you to re-post so easily BUT (again), it's so easy that often you can't find where it's coming from - and two hours later, you've lost two perfectly good hours in Tumblrland... instead of making / creating  something...

Anyhow, check it out (click here to scroll down or there for the archive) and let me know what you think. Where do you look for inspiration? Do you prefer Pinterest? Wishpot? What do you use the most? Would love to hear from you. I also need to plan some advertising for the store on various blogs and websites this fall - which do you like the most or think would be the best fit?  I could really use your input!

  1. I prefer Pinterest because the attribution of images is slightly better (still not as good as I'd like, mind you). I also like seeing all my inspiration together, it's easier to spot patterns of things that are interesting me when they're all together.

  2. Sophie, oh my goodness, just took a gander at your archive...looks like you've reposted from me, what a hoot, didn't know! I ADORE my T'blr. Have checked Pinterest & the style just isn't for me. Still, T'blr has a lot of limitations and a couple things I'd like to seriously correct. I'm a fiend for giving credit/bylines when the info is avail...not always so, as you say. I use T'blr as my virtual scrapbook...where I store stuff I don't want to forget and I use it heavily for inspiration and visual backup on my blog posts. See ya 'round there!!

  3. What an amazing tumbler site you have ... bookmarked! I can't stand not knowing where the images originate on tumbler yet your work seems to get more traffic there. I love Pinterest mostly for my design inspiration because of the access to original links and how you can create different inspiration boards. Tumbler just seems WAY too daunting. Hats off to you sweetpea, btw, it was your site that introduced me to tumbler. Great eye candy!

  4. Ha! and it's you Kathryn who introduced me to SweetPea! How funny, small world. thank you all for your input. I like Pinterest too even though I feel sometimes it's way too organized/compartimented for me :) All of it is overwhelming quite frankly..
